Generally, it is not recommended to use sulfur soap for washing eczema-prone skin. Sulfur soap is a type of medicated disinfectant soap, and if eczema has developed noticeable inflammatory reactions, indiscriminate use of sulfur soap may damage the epidermal stratum corneum, ultimately worsening the skin's barrier function.
Therefore, if eczema recurs frequently, sulfur soap can be used occasionally for washing. However, regular use of sulfur soap may not only fail to treat the condition but could potentially exacerbate the eczema. If significant exudative reactions have already developed, sulfur soap should not be used at all. In such cases, timely anti-inflammatory treatment is necessary, and the use of other alkaline bathing products should also be minimized.
