Sebaceous cysts that appear in the vulvar area primarily occur on the labia majora or labia minora, forming a cyst-like lesion of the sebaceous glands. Due to recurrent episodes, these cysts may develop inflammatory reactions, typically presenting with noticeable redness and swelling.
Some patients experience significant pain or tenderness due to severe inflammation, and the surrounding lymph nodes, particularly the inguinal lymph nodes on both sides, may become enlarged and tender. In cases where the condition progresses to suppuration, there may be gradual discharge of pus.

If the cyst develops on the inner side of the labia majora, it could indicate a local infection of the Bartholin's gland, also known as bartholinitis. Patients with these symptoms require prompt anti-inflammatory treatment.
